Jim Trevor wins Morlich Homes open 10 mile TT

Hull Thursday’s Caledonian-based veteran time trial racer, Jim Trevor, took victory in his first race of the season North of the border.

With a winning time of 23.39 the Thursday rider beat veteran rider Paul Black of Elgin CC and senior rider Tom Evans of the Ben Wyvis CC by a margin of 4 seconds. Both riders beaten into second place were local riders with superior course knowledge.

The event was held on the B9103, a twisting single carriageway from Sheriffston to Lossiemouth in Moray, 50miles to the east of the City of Inverness. The course in true Scottish TT style, included a dead turn in the road, with riders encircling a brave marshal branding a red flag stood on the central white lines of the B road. Open TT courses of this nature have not been seen in East Yorkshire since the use of the  North Cliff road over 25 years ago where a dead turn was used.

The day although dry was bitterly cold. To put it into context only 40 miles away Aviemore ski centre was full to capacity with skiers with alpine conditions reported.
