‘Scene’ March 2019

The racing season has begun. It’s good to have cyclocross, time trials and race training getting a mention. Please read the meeting minutes – it’s your club so find out what’s going on.

Check out the Otley Club write up where youths are active. Could Hull Thursday follow suit?

On the social scene we (Deanies) dominated the write-ups but hope you enjoy reading about Calpe, Spain. We have the gerries’ rides with dates and great to get a Pit Stop recommendation.

Volunteers: Please check your diaries and if you are available, contact the organisers and let them know you can help. Events cannot go ahead without helpers and it is really useful to the organisers to get support in advance (otherwise they spend evenings ringing around).

Special request: If you are available and not riding the EYRRL and feel you can manage the start/finish please contact Andy Abbott. This will allow Andy to ride.

Enjoy the read:

  • Front Page: Training on the Ennerdale Circuit
  • Club Scene: Coming events. Minutes from the meeting, Keith Carter needs volunteers, a Visit to Otley CC
  • Social Scene: Deanies Escape to the Sun, Gerries rides
  • Racing Scene: Ennerdale Monday Nights
  • TT Scene: Open TTs 9th-10th March, Sportslab Skidby, George Ely
  • Muddy Scene: Why’s everyone so Cross? Cyclo-X!, One Proud Dad

Thank you to Jim Sampson, Dave Millson, Doug Jaram, John Ulyatt, Neil Dean, Jim Trevor, Lee Coulson, me and Facebook for contributing to this month’s newsletter.

Please don’t be shy. Send contributions, big or small, for April as soon as possible, April 21st deadline.
