Just one little section of the Sproatley training circuit proved to be hazardous for the couple of dozen riders who turned up to take part and had, reluctantly, to be cancelled. Thanks to those who turned out to marshal for us - Geoff Griffin, Terry Grainger and Gil Bradley - and to Richard and Sheila, and to Geoff and Terry for helping me try to clear the ice from the T junction near Burton Constable. Pity we had no salt with us. Hopefully the weather will be kinder next week on this circuit. Jim Sampson

It costs a bit to get the use of a wind-tunnel in a laboratory but we had a free one on Saturday. I know I prefer to go out into the wind on a ride so that it’s helpful on the return; a circuit is quite different as you get it from all directions and you have to adapt. Why is it that the wind doesn’t seem to affect good riders so much? Read more
