The season may be drawing to a close, but the Hull Thursday Racing Team are still competing in the local racing scene. The latest event saw myself (Mark Walker), Josh Ravn and Danny Posnett tackle the 55 mile Knottingley Velo Road Race on the 13th September.

A Blyton brace for Posnett

Blyton Circuit Race – HTRC dominate
Usually Tuesday nights are reserved for training rides or time trials for Hull Thursday lads, so a trip down to Blyton near Gainsborough on Tuesday 21st July was something of a novelty.

Keith Jordan Memorial – Graham Morgan second
Hull Thursday Road Club’s Graham Morgan sprinted into second place in Friday’s Keith Jordan Memorial support race round the cobbled Beverley town centre circuit.

Team Cystic Fibrosis Road Race – A return to the good old days
After a couple of weeks away from racing open events, I returned to the saddle for the Team Cystic Fibrosis RR on 19 July, with a chance to redeem myself.

Condor Buckstone Flanders RR
Having never ridden this race before, but knowing that it had a section of unsurfaced road and a short section up a 20% concrete ramp, I followed the race organiser’s instruction to use training wheels and suitable gearing.

Keith Carter Memorial RR – A war of attrition
April 12th marked something of a home fixture for Hull Thursday with the Keith Carter Road Race taking place over the arduous Newbald course, which was to go up the Cote de Newbald 6 times!
