Club Rides

Winter Training (January – March)

Jim’s Training Rides – First Saturday in January to last Saturday in February.

Ride in groups determined by ability on a short (2 mile-ish) circuit, riding through-and-off style for 1 hour.

Designed for pre-season training rather than ‘pleasure’, unless you have masochistic tendencies of course.

Sunday Club Run

Every Sunday the club meets at Skidby Mill car park for a ride that leaves at 9.30am sharp.

A friendly welcome is guaranteed, as is a good stretch of the legs.

We plan to return to the start point at around 12:30 (1.00pm at the latest) and usually cover between 40-60 miles depending on the weather, who’s in the group, etc.

Average speed 16-18 mph

Winter Rides

If you’re joining us on a ride in the winter months, please be sure to fit a decent rear mudguard. The reasons are many:

  • reflectors or reflective material can be fitted, improving your visibility in the dark winter months
  • mudguards keep your backside and lower back dry, reducing the risk of injury
  • mudguards are courteous to your fellow riders, keeping their expensive Oakley shades water, mud and grit-free (their faces, eyes and kit too)
Mudguards

Respect your riding buddies – please fit a rear mudguard for winter rides!
