And you are:

  • I’m a returning cyclist. After racing for the club through schoolboy and juvenile age groups I left to pursue football but have returned to the road after 15 years.

Bikes you currently ride:

  • Orbea Onix
  • Corratec Dolomite

Average miles covered in a week:

  • 100-150m + turbo sessions, spread across 30m commutes and club rides.

Goals for this season:

  • Achieve a level of fitness to compete well
  • Help the team in road races
  • Challenge for points in criteriums

Favourite Rider:

  • Gerraint Thomas

Best place you’ve ever ridden:

  • Lanzarote but our very own NY Moors and Yorkshire Dales are fantastic too. Will I ever get to ride any Alps or Cols??? Hope so!

Favourite thing about cycling:

  • Descending, cornering, climbing and actually being out there seeing the country where we live.

Most embarrassing moment on a bike:

  • Probably putting an attack together, riding off the front and promptly binning it in the wet at the next corner!

Memorable achievements:

  • Winning a round of EYRRL as a Juvenile after a solo attack from lap 2.
  • Holding the schoolboy 15m TT record for the last 20 years (where have the next generation been?!)
  • Gaining 3rd Cat in my first season back on the bike after 15years.
