Only 2 local riders travelled to Cheshire for the LVRC National Championships this weekend, Mark Robinson for the D cat race and Rob Stones for the E cat race.

The event was run in atrocious conditions , persistent heavy rain making the Audlem circuit treacherous and causing several abandons with near hypothermia!

Mark took 4th in the D race over 96km after almost bridging the gap on his own to the leading breakaway trio. Rob took silver in the F race over 80km, just missing the gold by a bike’s length to breakaway partner Richard Booth (Middridge CRT). The two had led for over half the race distance after breaking away on the 3rd lap and building up over 2 minutes lead by the finish.
