Drighlington BC 25 mile TT, 11th August 2007
It was near perfect conditions for the Drighlington BC 25mile time trial on Sat 11/08/2007 run on the V232 course.
The course runs from near Dishforth airfield, along the A168, turning at Knayton and returning to finish opposite the airfield. The course is non-technical and majority dual carriageway with the exception of a couple of mini roundabouts on a single carriageway just after the start and a final mile slog off the A168 to the finish. The event was well supported by local riders including Pete Caldicott, Mike Kilgour, and Myself from HTRC.
I had just returned from holiday that morning so was keen to see if my wine and seafood excesses in Scotland had taken their toll, so packed the car and headed back up the A1 to Dishforth. After the event I was amazed to discover I managed to set a new PB of 54.10. Upon returning to the HQ I met up with Pete who had just returned from a 6 mile run!!! This is after he had ridden a 25MTT and recorded a new PB of 58.30, he told me he was in training for an Iron Man the following week, so hope it all went well Pete. Mike recorded 1.02.27 also a new PB.
Steve Gore Brown of Team Swift recording 53:44 won the event.
