Trotter 3rd in Memorial Race

Junior Jacob Trotter produced a excellent performance in the Maureen Bain Memorial support race when finishing in  3rd place.

Held on a tough out and home circuit near Morpeth Trotter was always to the fore on the climbs and positioned himself well to take 3rd place in the bunch finish contested by around 20 riders.

Following the bad luck of the previous 2 weeks when punctures late in races killed off any chances of a good placing Jacob now joins teammate Joe Rainey in moving up to a 3rd category ranking.

In both riders first season on the road it is good to see Thursdays junior riders to the fore.

Both riders now enter a busy period of local races with the We Love Mountains RR on Sunday at Walkington followed by our club road race on the Newbald circuit the following Sunday and the HERRC Wilson Wheels road race at Wetwang on Sunday the 29th April.
