The trip to Derbyshire proved worthwhile for Neil Cleminshaw as he smashed the existing Club Veterans 25 mile record (54:28 set by Alan Gay). Neil averaged 28mph to stop the clock in 53:34 in the Derby Mercury CC event from Etwall to Uttoxeter on 18th August 2012.

Neil knew his form was good, but was really delighted to get the 25 record as he’s been chasing it and been extremely close on 3 previous occasions.

This was only 7 days after breaking his own Hull Thursday RC Vets record with 20:25 in the Brid CC Open 10 on the V718 on Sat 11th Aug 2012, slicing 7 seconds off the previous reord of 20:32 from 2010.
