It’s sad to have to report the death of Keith Carter on Thursday, 7th February after complications resulting from pneumonia which he contracted from a cold and ‘flu.

He was out on his bike only two weeks earlier.

He has been the major patron of the club for a great many years contributing to events even before he took on the club sponsorship in 1990, and supporting club events and functions ever since. Although his father, Jack, was an old Hull Thursday member, Keith started his cycling with the Hull Kingston Phoenix CC and our magazine editor Ron remembers him in a group going on a cycling holiday to the Lakes around 1950.

More importantly he’s been a very good friend to everyone out on the so-called ‘Geriatric Jaunts’, coming with us each Wednesday for a dozen years or more. He’ll be sadly missed.  He’s certainly done his share at the front.
