Road Race Training Ride 3/Freewheel Competition 2013

A stiff ride to Millington which required a Tron-like (see Will’s glowing cycling top) effort to fix an early puncture just outside Little Weighton.

A HTRC puncture specialist team of 4 managed repair said puncture in record time (and took a couple of snazzy snaps too). Enthusiasm was not dampened, unlike the weather which was grey over, light mists, wet surfaces but decent feeling temperatures.

Another HTRC puncture was observed near North Dalton, everyone met up at top of Millington Dale for the Freewheel compo, current new champion Mike was looking pretty confident with a sneaky grin. Refreshments were at Millington’s Ramblers’ Rest where a welcoming log fire was was glowing nicely, though not many people took up the opportunity to toast themselves as they were stuffing their faces with cake.

The weather picked up for the run back to Skidby, two groups split at Market Weighton one comprising the training group which headed back via Cliffe Road and the social group headed back via Kiplingcoates valley.

I managed to puncture at the top of South Cave near Weedley, just as I was about to fly to the front of the training group (honest). Winking smile.  Hope you all like the pics…
