HTRC Time Trial Series 2014

I hope you’ve had a good Christmas and New Year and are now eager to get fit for the forthcoming racing season. The first event is just over 8 weeks away!

Provisional details of the TT series have been submitted to CTT for approval and are attached for information but please note these are subject to change in the agent of any clashes or the like.

As outlined at the end of the last season in order for the series to be organised to a higher standard it is important that certain aspects of the series are improved. Please see the attached note for further details.

The main requirement is highlighted below for your information – I am quite happy for riders to pair up if necessary to make the task easier and of course assistance and guidance will be available from both myself and other committee members.

The next step is for riders to volunteer to assist with organising an event. Several HTRC committee members have already volunteered for some of the event but ten events require covering.

This is essential for the series to run and no entries will be taken until all 16 events are covered.

Please send me any offers of assistance ASAP with preferred dates so that I can coordinate the responses into the entry form.

Ideally, I would like to issue the entry form in two weeks time so a speedy reply would be appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Organising requirements

We require the following:

A named individual to take responsibility for the organisation of each event (the organiser).

This could be 16 different people or a small number doing several events each. The organiser will be responsible for:

  • checking the course immediately prior to the event (driving round it) to ensure it is safe to race on.
  • sweeping any significant grit from the corners (in reality this only affects a couple of corners on a couple of courses and not every corner of every course).
  • ensuring each marshalling point identified in the risk assessment is covered by a competent marshal.
  • safety signs are erected before the event and collected on conclusion.
  • taking care of rider signing on etc.
  • collecting marshalling vest and numbers on completion.

Cheers,
