Big thanks to Neil and Mandy Dean for organising the event and all the other marshals for giving up their time.
Windy, but a reasonably warm day, and much better conditions than most early season events.
Unfortunately Joe hit a pothole and broke his rear disc wheel – in future if we note any problems before the event we will try and note then on the signing on sheet so people are aware but obviously we cannot guarantee all holes or defects are identified.
Incidentally if anybody notes any big pot holes whilst out training the best bet (before reporting it on Facebook or anything else) is to let the council know.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council have always filled any hole I have reported to them promptly (often within a couple of days) – I don’t know about other councils as most of my riding is in ERYC area.

Next event is Bubwith in two weeks’ time – If anyone is out that way please have a ride round and look for any potholes and either let the council know or failing that let me know and I will tell them.
Message from Amanda, the organiser: Neil Cleminshaw was amazing. After checking out the course, brushing a ton of gravel, he and his beautiful assistants marshalled the first junction. Richard Guymer took on the fifth junction and Malcolm Johnson volunteered on the day. He was at the Sproatley junction ensuring no one visited Asda. Barry and Gil did the timing and, with doubling up from Barry and Richard as pusher offers, the event was covered.
Thanks very much to everyone.
