TT Series – Victory number three for Stevie G
Tuesday night was another good night for racing, and one of the few nights I can remember in the last few years when there did not seem to be any wind anywhere on the Little Weighton course.
I think there was slight tail wind up the start finish straight but it never really seemed to be in your face anywhere. Long may this state of affairs continue. Although still fairly chilly it was a lot warmer than the previous event and a good turn out of 24 riders faced the timekeeper.
Steve Guymer once again proved invincible and took victory by a substantial margin. This was his third straight victory and it looks like the other riders will have to improve quite a bit if they are to trouble him. Mark Walker was second and also had a good margin over third placed Neil Cleminshaw. Richard Dean was fourth and behind him were 4 or 5 riders all closely grouped.
Callum made a good improvement over his first showing and will no doubt improve more as both his fitness and technique improve. He certainly gave Chris Brown a scare when he re-passed Chris going past the school at the end of their first lap, after Chris had caught him off a minute just before the water tower. Chris re-passed Callum up the drag after the start line but it was nice to see Callum making such a good effort.
James Godfrey also recorded a good result as private entry and its pity he isn’t riding the series as he clearly has some good fitness at present. The undulating nature of this course probably favours the lighter riders and I would expect the time gaps to be much closer all round at the next event at Gilberdyke.
The organisation was once again very well handled and efficient – this time by Neil Dean and John Savage. Thanks too to Gil and Barry for taking care of the start and finish timekeeping and pushing-off. Thanks guys for your excellent work.
The next event at Gilberdyke is in 2 weeks time. Entry list to follow shortly…

Please note: I have moved one or two riders out of the standard road bike group as they are riding bikes with aero bars fitted. Please can all those in this category let me know if they are also using aero bars and hence in the wrong group.
