Road race training sessions

I hope you’ve all been keeping an eye on the Hull Thursday Racing Team throughout this year. If you have, and have been inspired by the success, adventures and sometimes misadventures, then why not take the opportunity to become a part of the team and give road racing a go in 2015.

As was the case last year, I’ll be hosting weekly Saturday rides of around 45 miles, which will contain a short period of ‘through and off’ style training so you can get the grasp of what riding in a group is. Last year the sessions formed the foundations of the club’s racing team and many of our riders at the time had little experience of riding in a group.

However, with a relatively slow speed environment, many of them quickly gained the confidence required and have since gone on to achieve some great results this year.

If you’re a first claim Hull Thursday member, young or old, male or female, and want to give road racing a crack, or just want to come out for a decent Saturday morning ride regardless of your club status, then please feel free to attend.

The first session will run on Saturday 25 October at 9.30am from Skidby Mill Car Park and will follow the same format throughout.

Further details about the sessions will be on the club’s online calendar (in the right margin).
