Can I say a huge thank you to every one who got involved in the 2014 edition of the ‘Big G Reunion/Help 4 Heroes Sportive’, after last year’s dreadful weather we enjoyed probably the best Sunday in October.

Once again Longcroft School was the perfect venue and the kitchen staff and voluntary helpers did an excellent job of feeding the hungry hordes!
Also, the Wolds Inn at Huggate provided support for our feed station volunteers.

We raised £2500 for the Help for Heroes charity, which, once again was a magnificent amount. Combined with this, the local Help for Heroes representative, Rachel Ferguson, raised additional funds through the sales of H4H merchandise, plus individual donations on the day.

This event can only take place with the continued support of the many friends and members of Hull Thursday Road Club who give freely of their time and also the many other individuals who respond each year to my request for help for this very worthy cause.

So, here’s hoping that we can once again rise to the challenge in 2015!
