Thanks from Cancer Research UK

Letter sent to Michael Jackson, the guitarist in The Ordinary Men, our entertainment on the night. “Dear Supporters: One day we will beat cancer. Your donation of £100, raised from your Annual Dinner Dance, will help us make that day sooner.”

On behalf of everyone at Cancer Research UK, thank you.

Cancer sadly affects 1 in 3 people in the UK, but your generosity means that we can bring real hope to those diagnosed with cancer and their families. Through our research, we’ve seen ten year survival rates double from one in four 40 years ago, to two in four today.

While this is a significant achievement, there remain many patients for whom outcomes are particularly poor. Our ambition is to accelerate our work so that three in four people survive the disease within the next 20 years.

Our research, entirely funded by people like you, will ensure that more people survive cancer; which is why we are so grateful for your support.

One day we will beat cancer. Thank you for helping to make it sooner.
