Jim’s Winter Training #7

A better day and a few more out, 27 in all.Three started in group one, 6 in group two, 8 in group three and eight in group 4.

A couple joined after we started. Upped the session to ten laps. The times are in the table below:

You can see from the time on lap one that group 4 were less than fifteen seconds behind group 3. Consequently they merged on the second lap, the carrot was too juicy and the group split up with some continuing and being joined by others from group 3.

The objective is not to catch the group in front but to stay and work together; too many in the group means that quite a few avoid working. That’s cheating – but it only cheats yourself.

Groups 1 and 2 worked hard and clearly enjoy the sessions. Thanks again to Mick Adams, Terry Grainger and Geoff Griffin for marshalling.

Only two more group training sessions left until we start again next year. Not too late to start.
