2015 GHS Memorial Rides

GHS Memorial Rides are organised by the Yorkshire Cycling Federation and include easy touring riders for all on Sunday 19th April 2015.

George Herbert Stancer OBE was born at Pocklington on 17th April 1878. He became a member of the Yorkshire Road Club in 1898 and remained so until his death in 1962.

For 25 years he was secretary and for 14 years President of the Cyclists’ Touring Club. It is in memory of this fine Yorkshireman that the GHS rides are promoted annually on a Sunday near his birthday.

Various start points throughout Yorkshire with varying distances, and all rides visit the café at Pockington. There are a number of points that the riders have to pass and record their ride cards.

The route between these points is not marshalled so a map is important. Various stops are arranged at cafés.

All riders receive a certificate with the time for the distance achieved. All are welcome.

Cost of event: £2.00 when entered prior to the day – £4.00 on the day.
