Thursday on Thursday at Ennerdale Cycle Track

Tonight saw Hull Thursday RC organise some circuit races on Ennerdale which saw a small bunch of U10’s give it their all in the first race and was eventually won by Tillie Jennings, followed by brother William Jennings, both of Clancy Briggs Racing. Final spot on the podium was taken by Caleb Devaney of Hull Thursday. 4th place was taken by Genevieve Coulson also of Hull Thursday and 5th place went to 7yr old Leo Elvin… Fantastic effort from all riders. Well done.

With numbers low for the U14/U16 race they joined in with the 2/3/4th Cat adult race. The three youths more than held their own for long sections early on in the race which was some going as the pace ramped up repeatedly as the bunch tried to reel in the early solo breakaway by Sam Kettlewell of TS Racing. Around mid race the catch was made and then repeated attacks happened from numerous riders as the pace constantly changed. With nobody being allowed to stay away too long it came down to a sprint which was narrowly taken by the early leader Sam Kettlewell. Second was Benjamin Leroy of JRC Interflon RT and third went to local Tom Ramsey of Wold Top The Edge RT. Hull Thursday rider Nige Whiteley took the final points in 10th. Special note to James Canham (14 later this month) of Doncaster Wheelers CC who took 14place in the bunch sprint, a great ride and a name to watch out for in the future. Well done to all riders.

Special thanks to all helpers and supporters of HTRC for tonight’s efforts at the Ennerdale cycle circuit.
