Thursday provides another win for Thursday at the Cliff Pratt sponsored TT league event 2 at Little Weighton

Thursday 28th April saw Mark Mckeown take the second Cliff Pratt sponsored TT league event win of 2022 leaving former Hull Thursday rider Neil Cleminshaw (Vive le Velo), and Steve Guymer (Squadra) to fill the other podium places.

Neil having bigger fish to fry raced following a hard training session the previous evening so he’s expected to be a strong challenger for the league table itself as well as the other events, priorities allowing.

Visiting rider Stuart Gillies originally from the area but now riding for Twickenham CC, enjoyed the convivial atmosphere and narrowly missed that third placed finish,  completing the top four who were all in close contention.

The two HTRC riders Brown and Dean had some tussle sharing 6th place with an equal time and other close individual battles look set to develop as the season starts to unfold again.

The north easterly was relatively kind on the night for this course,  but soon we’ll all be hoping for warmer winds as we start to look at the points accrued as the league progresses.

Thanks to Cliff Pratt’s for sponsoring the series and as always to Rich Guymer, Dave Milson, and the other helpers on the night.

All welcome for the next event the Beswick 10 m TT on Thursday the 12th May.

Selby CC V717 10 m TT

Hull Thursday’s Mark Mckeown stretched himself to a podium at the Selby CC club TT on the V717 course on the 4th May.

Based at the Drax power station Sports and Social club with the billowing cooling towers as a backdrop,  the largely sheltered course had a 10 mph westerly which didn’t put off the dozen starters on a dry and bright spring evening.
