After the nation basked in tropical heat which saw the cancellation of City Road Club’s 25 m TT on the Tuesday, Thursday was thankfully more conducive and less life threatening for all out efforts at the Cliff Pratt TT league event 8, the Lockington 10.
Neil Cleminshaw (Chapeau! Vive le Velo) took advantage of being fresh from a weeks relaxation and quality training in the Welsh hills, beating City Road Club’s Graham Heaton into the second spot and putting a full minute more into Mark Mckeown (HTRC) than at the Lund event one month earlier.

Car trouble left hard working volunteer John Savage at the finish for some time following the event. Commiserations John and many thanks for all your hard work and efforts to keep us all racing.
Good to see youth rider Tom Mckeown (HTRC) in the running again alongside junior Will Trevor of the new Jem Hadar Racing team.

2022 League standings
Due to limited league entrants final category selections have been delayed. Steve Guymer (Squadra) has been untouchable dominating the road bikes in the field. Mark Mckeown (HTRC) hasn’t enjoyed that luxury after taking the first two event wins of the series. The improved form over the year of former Thursday rider Neil Cleminshaw now riding for Chapeau! Vive le Velo, have left Mark in Neil’s wake after his early wins. Neil’s comfortable win at Lockington means only the technical Etton circuit offers Mark a slim chance to overturn Neil’s lead for the overall. Mark will also need to finish ahead of Neil in the final event at Little Weighton, though that was where Mark’s second 2022 series win occurred, so who knows. I’ll say it quietly though it was Mark’s first and only win over Neil however this year. Shhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks to all the volunteers that have made this series possible, including John Savage, Rich Guymer, Dave Millson and Geoff and Angie Rawson, and others.
