Cold and windy conditions greeted the riders on the tough North Newbald circuit on Sunday morning, but the conditions were swept aside as Paul Rymer (Wilson’s Wheels RT) escaped from his breakaway companion, Robert Webster of Arrow Cycles, Lincolnshire, to solo to a fantastic win.

Other Hull Thursday riders competing in the event were Shaun Nicholson, Will Thomas, Richard Dean, Josh Ravn and Jim Trevor. George Leighton and Matt Johnson were also on the start sheet for the event, but both retired from the race along with Will Thomas, Josh Ravn and Shaun Nicholson. Congratulations to Richard and Jim for suffering to the finish line and getting in some hard training miles!

A full comprehensive report will be along as soon as sources from the race have chance to write one, but congratulations from the club and organisers to Danny and Graham for a cracking result.

I took some photos of the event from my position at the top of the climb, and as soon as I receive more from the race I will add them to our Flickr along with these.
